What is Barracuda Email Gateway Defence?
Barracuda Email Gateway defence is our chosen cloud-based email filtering service, that protects both Inbound and Outbound email into/from your organization.
This Service is included in both Barracuda Complete Protection & Barracuda Total Protection packages

How does does it work?
Email Protection & Email Gateway Defence employs the traditional email filtering approach to email security, as well as Advanced Threat Detection techniques.
- Using the latest definitions from Barracuda the Inbound and Outbound emails are assigned a score when they pass through Barracuda, if the email is scored too high it will either be Blocked or Quarantined.
- Emails with attachments are scanned by Barracudas Advanced Threat Detection module.
- As well as email scoring based on the latest definitions your own block lists, allow lists, geo-filters amongst other configurable options are used for filtering.
Settings are setup by Ziptech and tailored over time for your individual business.
